  • Stan Barsotti


    My name is Stan Barsotti and I am an active Agent and Owner of Waters Edge insurance.

    I have been an Agent for 5 years, becoming owner of Waters Edge in 2013. I specialize in Personal Lines Insurance, Life Insurance, and hard to place commercial lines of business such as, Detroit properties/businesses, tank insurance, sand blasting insurance, limousine and fleet insurance (etc.).

    This job comes with much gratification. One of my goals is to make sure that our customers understand their insurance and don’t leave confused. I am very clear and concise when talking with our current and new customers so I can make sure they receive a great understanding of what they are purchasing. I love having the opportunity to educate people about the insurance they are looking to buy and what it all means and how it helps them when they have the right coverages.

    I would say that one of my greatest accomplishments yet, is building this agency from the ground up and having great knowledgeable agents on my team who help us continue to grow.

    I currently have my license to sell Personal/Commercial Lines and Life Insurance in the states of MI, TN, FL, and MO. I am working on getting my license to sell health and surplus lines, as well. 

    I have been married to the love of my life for 33 years. Our big family consists of my daughter and son, along with two great cats and a mini poodle and also a standard poodle named Reagan, who you can meet when you come into the office! During my free time I like to golf, grill and I love fixing up and working on cars in my garage. My most current project was doing a complete restoration on a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS short bed 5.3 Liter and rebuilding it from scratch. 

  • Maureen Wark


    Maureen became a licensed Property and Casualty Agent in 2014, when she decided to transition from the Financial Industry where she had spent the previous 26 years.

    Her years of banking and wealth management were very much aligned with insurance.  The focus remains on protecting her clients’ assets and understanding their needs.

    Maureen especially enjoys the challenge of working with hard-to-place commercial businesses.  She continuously reviews carrier appetite guides for updates and meets with the marketing teams to find the best fit for her clients.

    She feels it is important to develop a whole-client relationship with her commercial clients.  Combining the needs of the client as an individual/family with that of their business. 

    Volunteering has been a major part of Maureen’s life since the late 1980s when she started helping at, and then chairing her annual church festival at St Isaac Jogues in St Clair Shores, until she moved to a different parish in the late 1990s.

    Her volunteer efforts keep family and children at the core.

    She has also been an active volunteer with the Parade Company (Detroit Thanksgiving Day Parade) since 1987, her favorite volunteer opportunity with them is dressing like a hotdog and entertaining the attendees of the annual Ford Fireworks in Detroit. 

    Maureen was a Girl Scout volunteer and troop leader while her daughters were in elementary through high school.  She is a past chairman of the St Clair Shores Activities Committee, where she was a member for 25 years.

    Currently, she is secretary of the Optimist Club of St Clair Shores. 

    Maureen spends her free time with her family and friends enjoying life to the fullest.  Her favorite escapes are annual Winter travels to the Caribbean, and Summer weekend trips to her vacation home in Lexington, MI.

  • Samantha Barsotti


    My name is Samantha Barsotti and I am a Lead Sales Agent for Water Edge Insurance. My career in the insurance industry began almost two years ago and at Waters Edge, when I began working alongside my father as an Agent.

    Early in my career, I started writing personal lines of insurance such as home and auto (including motorcycles, RV’s and boats), and now I’ve been successful in widening my expertise into commercial lines like BOP’s (Business Owners Policy), general liabilities, commercial auto, special event insurance and workers compensation. I would say out of all of the policies I’ve worked on, I would identify commercial apartment policies, homeowners and auto insurance as my areas of expertise. My favorite part about my job is there’s never a dull moment and always something new to learn. I also love to help customers understand their policies and spending time to make sure they are getting what they need. I think the insurance industry has a negative connotation associated with it, and I’d like to do my best to change it to reflect more positive thoughts and feelings by helping our customers. I would say I am very proud of the work I’ve done to grow the business on the commercial lines, as it takes a great deal of understanding and background knowledge to get the proper coverage. I can appreciate the work my customers have done to keep their businesses and properties intact and running, and with that appreciation I can help protect them.  Currently, I have my license to sell commercial and personal insurance in the State of Michigan. I take continuing education classes to stay up-to-date as well. I intend to pursue and receive my license in both life and health next, and I have explored options to get certified in other states so I may better assist friends, family and customers outside of Michigan. I love the seasons of Michigan and am a big fan of all Detroit sports. Along with my love for animals and being active outdoors, spending time with my fiancé, family and friends occupies most of my free time.
